Scheduling with DATES!
Event approval: the "holding bin"It's easy to set up DATES! so that many different people can enter events into a calendar "holding bin." These events do not actually appear on your calendar until they are approved by a designated event approver. You can create up to three different types of approvals, such as "Spelling and grammar," "Provost authorization," and "Room reservation."
You can have different offices or staff members authorized to provide these different types of approvals, or you can consolidate all approvals into a single office.
DATES! automatically sends daily email notices to event approvers if there are any events in the holding bin that await approval before posting.
Quick date/time entryFor scheduling, you need quick and easy entry of dates and times. DATES! uses a fill-in-the-blanks approach for dates and times, which is much faster than the drop-down menus that other web scheduling services use.
Almost any standard date format is acceptable. Enter whatever is easiest for you. For example, to enter an event date of March 10, 2005, you can enter "March 10, 2005" or "3-10-05" or "3/10/2005" or "10-march-2005" or "10-Mar-05".
If the year of the event is the current year, you don't have to enter the year at all. So if the current year is 2010, and you want to enter an event on "August 18, 2010", just enter "August 18" or "8-10" or "8/10" or "10-aug". Entering event dates is quick and easy!
Entering times of day is just as easy. Suppose an event begins at 8:30 pm. You can enter that time as "8:30pm" or "8:30 PM" or "8:30p" or by using military time, like "20:30" or "2030". Again, entering events is fast and reliable.
Access from anywhereWith DATES!, your schedules are on the web, accessible from anywhere. If you've had trouble with too many schedules created by too many people with not enough coordination, you need DATES!.
You can create one calendar administrator, but still allow dozens of other people to propose events tentatively, subject to the administrator's approval. Those authorized to enter events can all be in the same office, or spread out around the globe.
Everything is done with a simple, but password-protected, fill-in-the-blanks form on a web site.
No risk try-before-you-buyNot sure that DATES! will work for you? Try it out for a month, absolutely free. If you don't find it the easiest, quickest, and most useful scheduling system available anywhere, then just cancel service within the month and pay nothing.
DATES! It just works!
